UPDATE: Projects go wrong because of poor communication

Oct 25, 2011

Turns out this fantastic project management cartoon is actually created from a website that generates them for you, amazingly that didn’t show up on my first google search! Anyway here is the link to the website for generating your own [project management cartoon][1]. And now I can get to work on my own version, to illustrate my occasional (cough) frustration with the way projects often get managed. Clearly the problem

Guernsey Agency Poised to Launch Oliver Twist Gin

Aug 24, 2011

I do enjoy a good Gin and Tonic and so perfect that we’re in the process of launching a new Gin. A fantastic name and I think our designer has done a great job on the branding.. most importantly it tastes pretty damn good as well. Very exciting to see the project start with ideas for names and branding, right through to tasting samples of gin from the distillery for them to work towards the perfect flavour.

Boundary Waters Canoe Area Trip

Jun 29, 2011

Just returned from a fantastic canoe trip in the wilderness of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area of Minnesota. There really is nothing like this in the UK, or Guernsey, so it was well worth the effort to go and spend six days trekking by canoe through this genuinely unspoilt wilderness. Didn’t see any bears or moose but spotted just about every other sort of wildlife – from Eagles to Beavers! We hired all of our gear from North Country Canoe Outfitters who did a great job (although some better waterproofing would have helped!).

Should your tweet button, tweet the current page or your homepage

May 23, 2011

I have been thinking about this for a while and I am just not sure what the best option is. Not to mention what the user expects or how twitter originally planned it. Twitter themselves provide a way of creating a “Tweet” button, that also keeps track of how many tweets you have had – you can take a look at it here: [Tweet button][1]. I think the original intention was to allow people to quickly tweet about the page they are reading, which is great for them and hopefully their followers.

Kayaking in Guernsey from Rousse to Chouet

Apr 26, 2011

A gently paddle around – a lovely way to spend a bank holiday monday in Guernsey. I started out from the slipway at Rousse and paddled across to Chouet, it was quite windy so there were a fair few waves and it was quite hard work. Once I was across the bay at Chouet, I paddled inland and by the time I reached sheltered Ladies Bay it was really calm. A gentle paddle across the bay again and back towards Rousse, followed by a quick look around the headland and it was time to go.

Earth Hour 2011 in Guernsey

Mar 23, 2011

Earth Hour in 2011 is fast approaching, so I hope everyone in Guernsey will do their best to participate in the event at 8.30pm Saturday, 26th March by switching off your lights and doing something that doesn’t harm the environment too much for a whole hour. Seems this Earth Hour thing has been going on since 2007 and started in Australia. It has quickly grown into a global event with support from politicians and celebrities alike.

Documentary evidence that Thursday is in fact, the new Friday

Sep 23, 2010

I have documentary evidence that Thursday is in fact, the new Friday. NY Times and [Orange][1] And, if we can’t trust American Newspapers or French Telecommunications Networks then who can we trust!? I particularly like the bit about the quote from the clash… What it doesn”t mention is that the weekend comes to a halt some time on Sunday evening when we suddenly remember, to quote The Clash, that “Monday”s coming like a jail on wheels”.

Jeffxcalibur, a bizarre cartoon that only my friends will understand

Jul 25, 2008

I was looking through some old files and stumbled upon an old cartoon I wrote, I can’t imagine anyone finding these interesting apart from those people actually in the cartoons – but you never know. And that’s as far as I got. If anyone can suggest how the story should continue then leave me a comment!

MYSTERY BOX – ebaying for charity!

Jul 11, 2007

I’ve entered a charity event somebody at work is running and in a bid to get the highest priced ebay item I’m shamelessly linking to my site everywhere I can. It’s a charity event raising funds for the NSPCC! The aim is to sell a £5 item from a charity shop on ebay – to make even more money for charity. This item is a Mystery Box the content of which will only be revealed to the winning bidder!
